The following workshops will be presented as a webinar. Except for the monthly “this Month in HR series” all seminars are two hours long.
Webinars are limited to the first 25 registrants. If an additional web session is needed to accommodate excess registrations, we will notify you.
January 9th, 2009- This Month in HR- a monthly one hour overview on recent events in the HR profession. Held the second Friday of each Month.
January 20, 2009 10:00 am until Noon - Conducting Employee Investigations- Employers must investigate a variety of workplace incidents ranging from accusations of harassment or discrimination to employee grievances. This workshop will provide an overview of the requirements of conducting a fair and thorough investigation as well as pointers on how to make the investigation results useful as a management tool.
Feb 13, 2009- This Month in HR (See description above)
Feb 18, 2009 10:00 am until Noon- Who is REALLY exempt from overtime. Many employers misunderstand the rules that allow certain employees to be classified as exempt from overtime. This workshop will focus on the so-called White Collar exemptions and the more commonly utilized industry based exemptions such as the exemptions for those in the motor carrier industry, public employees and more.
March 13th, 2009- This month in HR- an expanded session that includes a Legislative Mid-Term report and Congressional Outlook. (Jim will have just returned from DC and will have an update on President Obama’s Legislative Package (2 hour session)
April 21, 2009 10:00 am until Noon- The words “sexual harassment” are frightening to many employers since they do not understand what behaviors are proscribed by law and how to respond when they observe or receive reports of workplace harassment.
May 2009- An “end of the session” overview of the Changes to HR related laws at the state level in Montana.
Fees: $25 per person (in person training) or per participating site (one computer linked in) regardless of participants at that site. Participants at each site must make a toll call to a common conferencing phone number which will be provided upon registration.
